Award of Excellence in the category of Magazines Overall Design – 2015
In 2015 SCENARIO Magazine got prized the Award of Excellence in the international Society for News Design’s annual creative competition on The Best of News Design. The award was justified on the grounds of “truly excellent work, going beyond mere technical or aesthetic competency. It honors outstanding entries for such things as being daring and innovative”.
Best Special Interest Magazine of the Year, Best Cover, and Best Regular Pages – 2015
On February 18th, 2015, The Society of Magazine Designers In Denmark (MDID) named SCENARIO as the year’s best special-interest magazine in Denmark. The jury justified the prize on the grounds that SCENARIO is a “beautiful, cool and distinctive magazine” with “text-heavy content laid out in an elegant and attractive way.”
The magazine also won the prize for Cover of the Year with a photo by photographer Ulrik Jantzen as well as the prize for Best Regular Pages for a technology brief edited by SCENARIO’s regular science and technology editor, Klaus Æ. Mogensen. With this, SCENARIO won in all three categories it had been longlisted and later shortlisted for.
Bording Media Prize – 2011
On June 17th, 2011, SCENARIO was honoured with the prestigious 2011 Anders Bording Media Prize. The jury explained its choice: “It is a beautiful and impressive magazine! Thoroughly conceptualized. Visually challenging and thought-provoking. Content: Varied and well told. Almost un-Danish in its insistent ambition and a great front for an institution like the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies.” The award was presented by the chairman of the jury, Lisbeth Knudsen, CEO, Berlingske Media.

Best Magazine Cover of the Year – 2011
On November 19th, 2011, The Society of Magazine Designers in Denmark has crowned this year’s winners in their annual magazine design competition. SCENARIO won in the category “Best Magazine Cover of the Year”. The award is for SCENARIO 1:2011, which features the article on “Open Source Genomics” by science journalist and writer Lone Frank, who also appears on the cover with a photo taken by photographer Ulrik Jantzen. The editor-in-chief extends his thanks and congratulations to the model and photographer.
